Motel la Espinita, nestled near the quiet outskirts of Guerrero Negro in Baja California, is a refreshing find for travelers seeking simplicity and comfort without breaking the bank. With a solid rating of 4.4, this modest motel draws consistent praise for its clean rooms, warm hospitality, and excellent value.

Guests frequently highlight the motel’s inviting atmosphere, where the owners’ genuine friendliness sets a welcoming tone. The rooms are described as clean and basic—offering firm beds and hot showers that provide a much-needed reprieve after long journeys. One of the more charming aspects is the presence of friendly dogs that greet visitors, adding a touch of homey warmth to the roadside stop. For those traveling on a budget, this place shines with rates as low as 400 pesos, making it an accessible option in Guerrero Negro’s lodging landscape.

The motel’s location strikes a perfect balance. It’s conveniently close to the town center yet sits quietly, allowing guests a peaceful rest. This quietness, combined with simple, clean accommodations, supports a reliable night’s sleep—a priority for weary tourists and business visitors alike.

While the WiFi reception draws mixed reviews, with some wishing for stronger and faster connections, this drawback doesn’t overshadow the overall positive experience. The lack of air conditioning may be a consideration in hotter months, but for many, including travelers who enjoyed pleasant weather during their stay, it remains a minor issue.

Adding to the motel's appeal is the approachable business vibe infused with a personal touch. The attentive owners ensure guests feel comfortable, and small gestures, like a warm morning greeting from Luna, a beloved local figure, enhance the stay with unforgettable human connection.

Really good motel and super close to Guerrero Negro, but in a quiet place. Everything seemed as if it was brand new. Very friendly owner, and also very patient if you don’t speak Spanish! Great price for what you get. WiFi speed could improve a bit though.. we were very happy we found this place.

Great great price, and the showers did get hot, but the internet was so slow we basically just gave up.

A nice clean room at a great price. Much nicer than other places I've stayed at in town at half the price!

Room was clean, bed was firm, and shower was hot. Price was outstanding. Very nice people running it. The best part for me was this beautiful, sweet girl named Luna. After loving on her for a while after getting there, she stayed out front of my room and greeted me first thing in the morning.

This little roadside motel is a great place for weary travelers to get a nice rest on a budget. You have to go to the little store out front and ring the bell on the door, and for as little as 400 pesos you get a clean, simple room with hot (slightly salty) shower. When I pulled into the parking stall in front of my room I was greeted by two friendly dogs. Safe, super casual and humble place, exactly what I was looking for. If you want something fancy go down the road to the halfway in and pay over a thousand pesos, but for me this place was the best!!!

I camped at their parking lot, used their shower from the room for $100 pesos. Nice owner, rooms are clean.

Highly recommend. Cheap! Would have expected a higher price for the quality. Clean room, strong wifi, hot water, pretty comfy bed. Didn’t try the tv. It’s definitely small and old. But doesn’t matter much… should be able to stream just fine. Only drawback I think would be there seems to be no ac. Weather for me was great, but I imagine this could be a deal breaker in the hotter months.
